The GIANTS Pathway Program

Stage 1.

The Northern Rivers Baseball Association conducts modified T-Ball to cater to players from Ballina to Coolangatta with 4 – 7-year-olds, learning Basic skills and developing those skills as they advance in the age groups.

Stage 2.

Players aged 8 – 10 play modified Rookie Ball advancing their hitting skills batting against Machine pitching which is more accurate than live pitching at this age.

Stage 3 – Giants Pathway Program.

The Giants Pathways Program was established in 2021 to open opportunities for young players to play Baseball and develop with a view to playing at elite level.

Teams playing in stage 1 and Stage 2 are:

Pottsville Sharks

Murwillumbah Hawks

Kingscliff Bears

Upon advancing to live-ball Baseball, chosen players receive advanced training through the Giants Pathways Program. This includes specialized instruction in pitching, catching, infield & outfield techniques, and batting.

While NRBA are developing local teams in Stage 1 and Stage 2, more advanced players are selected to play in the Giants teams participating in the Gold Coast Summer competitions and Far North Coast Winter competitions.

From there, NRBA players may try-out for selection in the Gold Coast or Far North Coast Representative teams, and selection in State teams.
